4th generation Domaine Bouchié Chatellier is one of the most outstanding producers in Pouilly Fumé.
Their vineyards benefit from an enviable high proportion of flint, which stores and reflects the heat, resulting not just in ripeness but the incredibly rich flinty minerality imbues the wine with a delicious complexity.
Following the ancient practise of Massal Selection, Domaine Bouchié Chatellier replants vines when required with cuttings from exceptionally old vines from the same or neighbouring vineyards. This ancient and uncommon practice of propagating vineyards has for the most part been replaced with vine clone nurseries. This ‘old’ planting method helps to reduce vine disease whilst increasing the individuality and uniqueness of the wine, and reflect a more honest terroir.
This fresh and beautifully aromatic Pouilly Fumé is defined by its minerality, fruit and elegance. The body is full and complex, the length us sustained and sophisticated.
