Description
A fifth-generation family winery, Bodegas Ontañón champions quality-driven Rioja from its own 250 ha of vineyards high in the Sierra Yerga. The Pérez Cuevas family has redefined Rioja Oriental, planting at altitudes up to 800 m to capture freshness and balance. Their control from vine to bottle allows them to craft expressive, terroir-focused wines with precision and character.
A fresh, supple Rioja with lifted red cherry and raspberry aromas, hints of violet and a gentle spice thread. Juicy and bright on the palate, it’s medium-bodied and polished, with fine tannins and a rounded finish — a poised partner for delicate dishes where subtlety matters.
Created with sushi in mind, it’s equally at ease alongside tuna tataki or grilled eel. Try it with soy-marinated duck breast, miso-glazed aubergine or seared tuna with sesame to showcase its bright fruit and measured oak.
