The name Kaiken is taken from a type of Patagonian wild goose, famous for their migration over the mountains from Chile to Argentina. When Aurelio Montes made the same journey, it seemed appropriate to name his new winery after the geese, that he had emulated.
The Ultra range is a cut above the Kaiken Clásico and Kaiken Terroir wines. As well as the Malbec, Kaiken Ultra also features a Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Merlot.
The Kaiken Ultra Malbec features grapes from 3 high altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley, Vistaflores (1400 metres), Gualtallary (1300 metres) and Altamira (1100 metres). It’s an exceptional wine that won Gold at the 2020 Sommelier Wine Awards.
