About This Wine
The Wine
Bedoba White is a refined blend of 70% Rkatsiteli and 30% Kisi from the Kakheti region of Georgia. The Rkatsiteli grapes come from mature vineyards on black slate soils, which add concentration and minerality. Kisi grapes come from cooler limestone sites and contribute freshness and aromatic elegance. The wine undergoes partial fermentation and ageing in qvevri amphorae and French oak barrels, combining traditional Georgian methods with modern techniques. It shows ripe fruit, honeycomb, toasted almond notes, and subtle wild herbs, supported by a creamy texture and gentle oak influence. The wine pairs well with roast chicken, seared scallops, and creamy cheeses and reflects Georgia’s winemaking heritage with a contemporary style.

Bedoba
Bedoba was born from a meeting between two worlds united by a passion for wine and tradition. More than a decade ago, Swiss wine entrepreneur Thierry Fontannaz traveled through Georgia and discovered a country where wine was not simply a product, but a way of life deeply connected to history, hospitality, and the land itself. There he met Nugzar Ksovreli, an experienced Georgian winemaker from Kakheti, and together they began the story of Bedoba
Inspired by Georgia’s ancient winemaking culture and the unique character of its indigenous grape varieties, Thierry wanted to share this hidden world with a broader audience. Working alongside Nugzar and the Konchoshvili family winery, Bedoba was created as a bridge between Georgia’s 8,000-year-old wine heritage and the modern wine world.
The name “Bedoba” comes from an old Georgian tradition celebrating the “Day of Luck” at the beginning of the new year. In Georgian culture, Bedoba is believed to influence the spirit and fortune of the year ahead, symbolizing optimism, generosity, and good intentions shared with family, friends, and guests.
Today, Bedoba reflects the soul of Georgia itself, a country where East and West, ancient traditions and modern life, nature and culture all meet. Through every bottle, Bedoba carries the spirit of Georgian hospitality, the authenticity of Kakheti’s terroir, and the timeless tradition of Qvevri winemaking into the world.
