Portuguese Loureiro | Portuguese Verdelho | Portuguese Alfrocheiro | Portuguese Trajadura | Portuguese Castelão

Trincadeira, also known as Tinta Amarela, is a high-quality red grape variety indigenous to Portugal. It is most notably grown in the Alentejo, Douro and Dão regions. Wines made from Trincadeira are known for their deep colour, firm tannins, and high alcohol content. They exhibit complex aromas of raspberry and blackberry, coupled with floral and herbaceous notes, often displaying a touch of spice with ageing. Trincadeira wines are appreciated for their vibrancy and structure, making them suitable for both standalone varietals and as a blending component in Portugal’s renowned red blends.
