Winemaking at Château de Villegeorge dates back to the 18th Century.
Lucien Lurton purchased the estate in 1970 and it is now under the ownership and control of his daughter, Marie-Laure Lurton. With its deep gravely soils, Château de Villegeorge has been renowned for producing quality wines for several centuries, and was awarded the highly acclaimed Cru Bourgeois Exceptional Growth status in both 1932 and 1966.
Deep in colour, fragrant and expressive, with aromas of red berries, brambly fruit and violets. A sprinkling of white pepper on the palate which is well-rounded with ripe, velvety tannins and great acidity. A sophisticated wine with impressive finish.
