Description
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tradition is a labour of love, using traditional vinification techniques to produce a truly stunning wine. This is dream territory for lovers of full bodied red wine and makes a brilliant gift or an indulgent treat.
Founded in 1973, siblings Christophe and Isabelle Sabon farm 100 hectares of Côtes du Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards. Managed traditionally, vines are planted on a mix of galet stones, sand and clay and produce exceptional fruit.
Vines are farmed without pesticides, insecticides or herbicides. The land is fertilised with manure of natural origin and is not weeded, thus maintaining the aeration of the soil and avoiding compacting. The vines are harvested manually to maintain the integrity of the grapes and each plot is vinified separately.
This lush, ripe, fruit-driven Châteauneuf-du-Pape has aromas of cassis and redcurrant with hints of smoke and spice. The charming palate has a mix of red and dark fruits and is approachable and balanced with lush tannins.
