The Wine
Pigmentum Malbec Rouge is crafted by the Vigouroux family, who have been dedicating themselves to Malbec wines in Cahors since 1887. The wine is made exclusively from Malbec grapes selected from vineyards on gravel and clay soils by the Lot River. This selection results in a wine with a deep colour and rich fruit character. The winemaking process includes traditional fermentation and a cold soak, focusing on preserving the fruit aromas and achieving a balanced structure with refined tannins. The Poupet family continues to innovate, blending traditional methods with insights from Argentine Malbec production, reflected in the smooth yet structured style of this wine.

The Producer
Since 1887, Malbec has flowed through the veins of the Vigouroux family, and their passion for this grape variety guides them in showcasing exceptional vineyards. Through Château de Mercuès and Château de Haute-Serre, the family's two "jewel" properties, they illustrate with complementarity and uniqueness the entire diversity and richness of the Cahors vineyard, the birthplace of Malbec.
In 1990, Bertrand-Gabriel Vigouroux joined the family business and brought his high-density viticulture and winemaking expertise to the production of Grands Malbecs.
In 2024, he was named the world's best Malbec winemaker by the renowned media outlet The DrinksBusiness, confirming his expertise in this grape variety.
