The Rubio from San Polo is a modern expression of Sangiovese from the hills of Montalcino. I’ve chosen this trio because it really shows off Italy’s diversity when it comes to red wine. The Neropasso is a wine I love for its softness and generosity – smooth, velvety and always a crowd-pleaser.
The Rubio Sangiovese is completely different: bright, lively and elegant, but with enough structure to make it a proper Tuscan red. It’s one of those wines that always impresses, whether you’re serving it with food or enjoying it on its own.
The Bonera is bold and powerful, but it also has this wonderful almond and dried fruit character that gives it so much personality. It’s everything I want from a Sicilian wine – rich, intense and unforgettable.
