A family-owned wine producer with a rich history that’s rooted deep in the heart of the Rhône Valley in France, Darriaud crafts high-quality white, red and rose wines that reflect this unique terroir.
The winery is situated in a region celebrated for its diverse soils and ideal climate, which help produce really balanced and expressive wines. The Darriaud vineyards benefit from the Mediterranean climate, which ripens the grapes perfectly while maintaining the freshness that characterises Rhône Valley wines.
Sustainability is a key value for them, with respect for the land and preserving the environment for future generations at the heart of their practices.
The Darriaud family has been producing wine for several generations, passing down their knowledge and passion from one to the next. Their wines are crafted with precision and care, focusing on both red and white varietals that offer complexity, elegance, and a true sense of place.
They often throw open the gates to visitors for tastings and tours – the communal spirit of winemaking in all its glory.
From the Handpicked Wine Cellars:
Darriaud mainly produce wines from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes, which are typical for the Rhône Valley. Their red wines are often bold and fruity, with notes of blackberries, spices, and herbs, while their whites tend to be fresh and floral.
Their Cotes Du Rhone Rose is a classic salmon pink, and deliciously moreish. The Cairanne is a Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre blend, and it’s rich, intense and full flavoured.
