Guillaume Gonnet is a distinguished wine producer based in the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape region in the Rhône Valley, France. With a family legacy in winemaking dating back to the 17th century, Guillaume Gonnet has continued this rich tradition. Quality, terroir expression, and sustainable practices in his winemaking are still at the heart of his ethos – combined with his own brand of adventure, curiosity and love of breaking boundaries.
Pursuing biodynamics wherever possible, allowing his fruit to express itself freely through hands-off winemaking and displaying his fascination for the varying soils of the Rhône through his diverse range of wines, he’s just the sort of restless creative that we love to work with.
Guillaume Gonnet travelled to Australia to learn his craft in the wine regions of Australia and New Zealand. He returned to France with his Australian wife, Kelly, and they manage the estate together, which is composed of several vineyards spread across the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, and Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations. The diverse terroir features a mix of clay, limestone, and sandy soils, allowing them to cultivate a variety of grape types: primarily Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault.
Guillaume Gonnet’s wines have received critical acclaim and are celebrated for their authenticity, depth, and the way they capture the spirit of the Rhône Valley.

Our favourite bottle from Guillaume Gonnet is his Cairanne. The nose is packed full of Cassis, Grenadine, and the pure Provencal aromas of “garrigue” – the local herbs. The mouth follows the nose but is more complex with kirsch, fig, stewed blackberries, black olive tapenade and liquorice – all complemented with soft, round tannins.
