Portuguese Aragonez

Aragonez is a red grape variety well-established in Portugal, particularly in the Alentejo and Tejo regions. It is also known as Tinta Roriz in northern Portugal and as Tempranillo in Spain. Aragonez wines are often full-bodied and deeply coloured, with rich flavours of dark fruits like plum and blackberry. Additional complexities such as spice, leather, and tobacco can evolve with ageing. The wines typically exhibit a good balance between acidity and tannins, making them highly versatile for food pairings and suitable for ageing.
