Description
Colheita is an aged Tawny Port made from a single vintage.
This old Tawny is produced exclusively from grapes from the oldest vineyards on the Quinto do Crasto estate, and created as a homage to renowned Port producer Constantino de Almeida.
By law, Colheita Ports must be aged in wooden casks for a minimum of 7 years before release, however in practice they are aged for a lot longer than this, often up to 50yrs, and represent exceptional value for money.
Bright amber in colour. Pronounced aroma intensity, showing notes reminiscent of caramel, honey, orange peel and nuts.
Incredibly complex with excellent concentration, volume, and structure on the palate, with fine-textured tannins.
Lighter than a Vintage Port, this is a delightfully charming wine, with a complex and slightly oxidised character, and long lingering finish.
Served slightly chilled; there really is no better way to enjoy a cheese board.
