Description
This Moscato Brachetto from Pizzini Wines is a quietly charming expression of an Italian classic, shaped by family heritage and the cool climate of Victoria’s King Valley. Lightly sparkling, and delicately aromatic, it offers a fresh, approachable style with balance and drinkability.
Pizzini Wines was founded by Alfredo Pizzini, who emigrated from northern Italy bringing with him a deep respect for Italian grape varieties and a strong food-first wine philosophy. Their winemaking dream began in 1978 when they planted their first vines, then in 1994 their first wine under the Pizzini label was produced.
Today, the next generation continues that legacy, focusing on thoughtful vineyard work and wines that reflect both Italian tradition and Australian terroir. Pizzini has played a key role in establishing the King Valley as Australia’s leading region for Italian varieties.
Nestled in Victoria’s alpine foothills, the King Valley is defined by cool nights, warm days and a long growing season. These conditions are ideal for aromatic and early-ripening varieties, allowing fruit to develop flavour while retaining freshness and natural acidity – a perfect fit for Moscato and Brachetto styles. Brachetto is a unique variety originally grown in Northern Italy, and rarely found elsewhere however it thrives in the King Valley of Victoria.
Pale pink with a fine, gentle spritz. Aromas of fresh strawberry, raspberry and soft florals lead into a lightly sweet palate balanced by bright acidity. Red berry fruit is clean and precise, finishing fresh and restrained rather than overtly sugary. Low alcohol and easy to drink.
This wine is a natural match for fresh berries, stone fruit desserts, almond pastries or lightly sweet tarts.
It also pairs well with soft cheeses such as ricotta or mascarpone, and works effortlessly as an aperitivo or brunch wine.
Serve well chilled and enjoy. Or, try adding fresh ginger, mint and lime.
This makes a lovely gift if you are looking for something a little different.
