Description
Since 1984, Markus Molitor has pursued a clear vision: to bring the great potential of the Mosel back to life – with distinctive wines that precisely reflect the interplay of vintage, ripeness, and origin. Meticulous manual work, selective harvesting, respect for grape and terroir, and the renunciation of standardizing aids define his winery’s philosophy.
The Riesling Alte Reben from various top sites of the Middle Mosel opens with a dense and rich nose of fully ripe, partly tropical fruit, interwoven with notes of crushed slate and lemon peel. Silky, crystalline and dense on the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich and very intense yet also angular and youthful Riesling, with crystalline, playful acidity and the typical slate finesse of the Mosel’s top vineyards. The finish is remarkably long and complex, yet also powerful. (Stephan Reinhardt, August 2024)
