Description
Valdecuriel Roble comes from the rugged Ribera del Duero, a region shaped by centuries of winemaking. The vineyards sit in the Valle de Las Pinzas, an area with a long and storied past, where vines have been cultivated since Roman times. This sense of history runs through the wine, but what stands out most is its energy and purity of fruit.
In the glass, it shows a bright cherry colour with a youthful violet edge. The nose is open and expressive, with fresh red fruits, a touch of wild flowers and a gentle hint of toast from its short time in oak.
On the palate, this is all about balance. Ripe red and black fruit sit alongside fresh acidity, giving the wine lift and drinkability. There’s a subtle layer of spice and just enough tannin to add structure without overpowering the fruit. It feels lively and youthful, but still properly put together. The finish is clean, persistent and nicely juicy.
This sits in that useful middle ground. It has more depth than a young, unoaked Tempranillo, but it’s not as heavy or structured as a Crianza. That makes it very versatile at the table.
It works particularly well with simple, well-cooked food. Think roast vegetables, grilled meats or young cheeses. It’s also a good match for lighter dishes where a heavier red would dominate, giving you flavour without losing freshness.
A proper expression of Ribera del Duero in a more approachable, everyday style.
