French Pinot Meunier is a red wine grape variety that’s most famous for its role in Champagne, where it’s one of the three main grapes used alongside Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Pinot Meunier contributes fruitiness and early maturing characteristics to Champagne blends, making them more approachable in their youth. As a still wine, Pinot Meunier can produce light to medium-bodied reds with bright acidity and flavours of red fruit like strawberry and raspberry. These wines can also sometimes show earthy or herbal notes. If you enjoy wines that are fruity, fresh, and versatile, wines made from or featuring French Pinot Meunier could be a great choice for you.
