Description
In the 18th century, this estate belonged to Baron Charles Emmanuel, a colourful character who was rumoured to be the illegitimate son of King Louis XV. Today, celebrated Kiwi winemaker Matt Thompson is at the helm of this estate which lies near the small town of Pomérols.
The region benefits from a sunny, warm climate that encourages ripe flavours to develop in the grapes, while the coastal breeze helps to retain freshness.
An elegant and pure wine with aromas of black pepper and liquorice, and flavours of red fruits with hints of cocoa. The palate is rich and juicy with supple tannins and a fresh, lifted finish.
