Description
This family-run winery based just north of Fleurie dates back to the early 1900s and has been run by current Winemaker Dominique Morel since 1967. Dominique’s philosophy is to make wines he likes to drink, with plenty of fruit, a good colour and a rounded mouthfeel.
Dominique has 18 hectares in total (three of which are in Fleurie), with vines up to 70 years of age which are situated on relatively low vigour granite soils. As a result, the vines have to struggle to survive, but stressed vines produce superior and beautifully concentrated fruit.
This wine has fragrant violet and red fruit aromas on the nose and a palate bursting with bright fruit and supple tannins. It is an elegant wine with a long, persistent finish, and typical delicacy of the Fleurie appellation
