Description
With a name synonymous with the Alto Adige region, the Haas family has been growing grapes in the Bolzano in the Alto Adige for generations. However, it is only under Franz that they began to bottle their own quality wines.
The vines for this wine are planted in deep clay and pebbly soils at altitudes of between 350 and 650 metres above sea level. Bolzano is one of the hottest cities in Italy providing this gorgeous Gewürztraminer with an intense ripeness. The altitude helps to balance the heat and slow the ripening to maintain a wonderful vibrant acidity on the palate.
The nose is intense and with aromas of lychee, orange peel and roses with hints of clove and nutmeg. The palate is fresh and vibrant with lasting notes of almond and dried apricot.
