Description
Founded in 1812 in Tours-sur-Marne, Champagne Laurent-Perrier’s legacy spans over two centuries. In 1887, Mathilde Emilie Perrier took over the reins of the company and added her surname to the that of her late husband, Eugène Laurent, to establish the House name of ‘Veuve Laurent-Perrier’. In 1939, the Domaine Laurent-Perrier was sold to Marie-Louise de Nonancourt, a widow with four children. Following the war, under the leadership of her son, Bernard de Nonancourt, a period of significant growth and innovation took place. At the end of the 1970s, Laurent-Perrier was one of the few Champagne Houses to choose stainless steel vats which contribute to the development of the House style: freshness, elegance and purity. Following a strong philosophy of sustainability, in 1998, Champagne Laurent-Perrier was awarded the Royal Warrant of HRH The Prince of Wales in recognition of its environmental responsibility and is the only Champagne House to hold this Royal Warrant. Today, Laurent-Perrier remains one of the most distinguished, family-owned Houses, hand-crafting elegant Champagnes of great finesse.
