Description
Valdecuriel Crianza is a serious Ribera del Duero with plenty of character, but it never feels heavy-handed. Made from Tempranillo grown in the dramatic Las Pinzas Valley, this is a wine that reflects its landscape beautifully. There is depth here, but also freshness, definition and real poise.
On the nose, expect ripe dark fruit layered with spice, a touch of truffle and a subtle mineral note that hints at the limestone soils. The palate is generous and powerful, with plenty of fruit at its core, balanced by fine texture and a gentle creaminess that gives the wine a polished feel. The finish is long, vibrant and savoury, with lingering notes of fruit and toast.
This is the sort of red that feels at home at the table. It is structured enough for roast or grilled meats, but versatile enough to work across the meal. It would be lovely with pasta arrabbiata, hearty potato dishes, slow-cooked lamb or robust Spanish-inspired food.
Valdecuriel draws on a long winemaking history in the Valle de Las Pinzas, an ancient and rugged part of Ribera del Duero where vines have been grown for centuries. That sense of place comes through in the glass, giving this Crianza both regional character and a refined, assured style.
