Description
Founded by Laurent Ternynck, Domaine de Mauperthuis lies just outside Chablis, where limestone soils and a cool Burgundian climate shape wines of clarity and precision. The estate has been certified organic since 2022, with minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar. Working with amphorae, old barrels, and native yeasts, Ternynck produces wines that bridge tradition and experiment — crystalline expressions of Chardonnayand Pinot Noir with a natural edge.
The nose opens with wild cherries, redcurrant, and violets, underpinned by subtle spice, earthy tones, and a hint of graphite. On the palate, it’s finely etched and energetic – bright red fruit layered with savoury nuance, supple tannins and a lithe, mineral-driven finish that lingers with quiet persistence. With air, it gains depth and complexity, hinting at its ageing potential.
