Description
Brothers at War began as a weekend project in 2013 – just a single tonne of Shiraz and two brothers in their twenties having a bit of fun.
A year later, they added a parcel of Cabernet and two wines were born: Fist Fight Shiraz and I’m Always Right Cabernet.
From those humble beginnings, the project has evolved into a serious pursuit, built around small parcels of high-quality fruit and a genuine love of winemaking.
Now in their thirties – and fathers themselves – the brothers have grown their venture into a tight-knit team of family and friends, with a shared goal to produce world-class wines while keeping their playful spirit alive.
This Syrah is dedicated to their mentor and father, or ‘Old man’, David Wardlaw, a Barossa winemaking pioneer who passed down both the knowledge and the passion.
It is a beautiful example of Eden Valley elegance; ‘cooler’ climate, Rhône style.
Bright and perfumed, it opens with violet, black cherry and raspberry aromas. The palate is silky and refined, with notes of plum, red berries, and a gentle touch of spice. Fine, velvety tannins and fresh acidity give this Syrah a graceful finish—proof that power and finesse can go hand in hand.
