Description
This is a deeply expressive Barolo from the celebrated Mosconi vineyard in Monforte d’Alba – a site known for producing wines with both power and longevity.
The Mosconi vineyard tends to produce a slightly broader, more muscular style of Barolo, but here there’s also real finesse and clarity. It’s a wine with depth and seriousness, yet still remarkably poised.
Owner and winemaker, Chiara Boschis is one of Barolo’s most respected estates and widely recognised as the first female winemaker in Barolo. She took over the family domaine in the 1990s and played a key role in shaping a more refined, approachable style of Barolo, without losing the character of the vineyards.
Made entirely from Nebbiolo, it opens with dark cherry, wild raspberry and rose petal, followed by layers of liquorice, cedar, dried herbs and earthy spice. The palate is structured and intense, but beautifully controlled, with fine tannins and a long, savoury finish that keeps unfolding in the glass.
Owner and winemaker, Chiara Boschis is one of Barolo’s most respected producers and widely recognised as the first female winemaker in Barolo. She helped pave the way for future female winemakers, in what was once a very traditional and male-dominated region.
She took over the family domaine in the 1990s and played a key role in shaping a more refined, approachable style of Barolo, without losing the character of the vineyards.
Since taking over the historic estate, she has become known for producing Barolos that retain the structure and ageing potential the region is famous for, while bringing more precision, elegance and approachability to the wines. Her work combines meticulous vineyard management, organic farming and a gentle touch in the cellar.
A remarkable Barolo that balances strength with refinement – and a brilliant example of modern traditionalism in Piemonte.
