American Sangiovese

As a single varietal wine, American Sangiovese is medium to full-bodied with high acidity and moderate to high tannins. It is characterised by bright red fruit flavours like sour cherry and raspberry, often backed by earthy notes of tomato leaf and dried herbs. Some versions, especially those aged in oak, may also exhibit hints of vanilla, tobacco, and leather. This versatile wine pairs well with a wide range of foods, particularly Italian cuisine like pizza and pasta with tomato-based sauces, thanks to its natural acidity and affinity for the flavours of the Mediterranean.
