Description
The fruit is sourced from the Rocky Road Vineyard which lies in the headwaters of the Chapman Brook, near Witchcliffe in the south of the Margaret River region. Vineyard management takes a back to basics approach at McHenry Hohnen embracing sustainable ‘Old School’ practices that were used before the rise of intense agriculture.
This wine displays aromas of blackberry, cassis and subtle minty notes. Underlying sweet liquorice, black olives and dark chocolate are moderated by subtle earthy notes. On the palate forest fruits abounds with cassis and sweet cola flavours. A silky mid-palate is supported by velvety cocoa flavoured tannins and sweet spiced oak.
