Description
Our Bull Paddock Vineyard is located in the Dillons Point sub-region of Marlborough’s lower Wairau Valley. The land was originally used for raising bulls, before the Neylon family realised the potential of the site and planted Sauvignon Blanc vines.
The Bull Paddock has been our best quality vineyard block every year since 2012. Dillon’s Point sub-region, located near Marlborough’s coast, is defined by deep young, mineral-rich alluvial silts, deposited on sand. Cooling afternoon ocean breezes extend the growing season, producing grapes with elevated aromatics and ripe flavours. We believe this sub-region, and particular vineyard, grows the best Sauvignon Blanc in all of Marlborough.
The nose is full of vibrant aromas of passionfruit, guava and tropical fruit, with a note of blackcurrant bud. The palate showcases the memorable Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc characters of passionfruit, blackcurrant and guava. The ripe fruit flavour is complemented by an intriguing saline minerality and with a focused, and approachable acidity.
