Description
Grown on very old bush vines, d’Arenberg is one of the only estates in Australia still to use the backbreaking basket press. This gentler method of extraction extracts less of the bitter, rougher phenolics from the grapes. But that’s not all, they also foot tread all their red wines during the ferment for optimum control over extraction.
They believe the quality of the results makes these incredibly labour-intensive processes’ worthwhile. They certainly don’t make things easy for themselves…
Full of cherries and blackberries on nose and palate, this wine is rich, smooth and intense. Underlying minerality on the finish and a great length.
