Description
Henschke are one of Australia’s First Families of Wine, one of Australia’s oldest and most respected family owned, multi-generational wineries. They have been making wine at their estate in the Eden Valley since 1868, and it is now sixth generation Johann Henschke at the helm, making some of Australia’s most acclaimed and sought-after wines.
Named after local landmark Peggy’s Hill, the vineyards for this wine are located around the top of the mountain range at altitudes of 400 – 500 metres. Grown in low-vigour ancient soils, vines are up to 60 years old and create a refined wine with a fine minerality. The nose is fragrant with aromas of lemon and lime zest, white peach and citrus blossom and hints of ginger, whilst the palate is concentrated with flavours of tangerine, grilled lemon and crisp green apple. Excellent balance with a sophisticated finish.
