Description
Henschke are one of Australia’s First Families of Wine, one of Australia’s oldest and most respected family owned, multi-generational wineries. They have been making wine at their estate in the Eden Valley since 1868, and it is now sixth generation Johann Henschke at the helm, making some of Australia’s most acclaimed and sought-after wines.
This wine is a tribute to Henry Evans who planted the first vineyard of seven acres at Keyneton in 1853, quickly developing a reputation for producing the best wines in the southern colony.
Fragrant, floral aromas of violets with blackberry, raspberry and blueberry. Underlying notes of spice, anise and black pepper, with sage, bay leaf and cedar. The palate is spicy, juicy and concentrated with ripe blueberry, strawberry and plum, creating layers of flavour with bright acidity and complexity from its long, fine, savoury tannins.
