Description
Founded in 1895, Domaine Cazes in the heart of the Roussillon is now in the hands of 4th generation Emmanuel Cazes. Fitou is the oldest of the Languedoc-Roussillon appellations and this wine is named after the 4 insistent winds famed for sweeping through the terroir: the Tramontane, the Marin, the Mitgjorn and the Levant.
These vines are 45+ years old and grown on a limestone plateau bringing a complexity and much needed freshness to wines from this warm climate.
The nose brings intense aromas of ripe blackberries, cherry and spice whilst the palate is deep and structured with silky tannins. A great food wine.
